 Our mission is to empower all children, including those with autism or disabilities, to reach their full potential by creating inclusive communities where every child belongs and thrives.

Who We Are

Moving Challenges for Students with Disabilities is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all children, especially those with autism or disabilities in Orleans and surrounding areas. We empower children through individualized programs that address educational, recreational, and home needs. By providing evidence-based training to educators and staff, we promote inclusive practices that benefit all students. Our after-school, summer, and holiday programs offer opportunities for children with diverse abilities to learn, grow, and thrive alongside their peers.  We refer parents to other agencies to obtain needed resources. We strive to make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities and their families and other nonprofits, we create a strong support network to help children reach their full potential.

Our Team

Our team consists of a board, parents, professionals, and volunteers who have children with disabilities, or who may know a child with disabilities and students studying, or working in a related area of education. 

Our program is staffed by experienced and qualified  professionals who are dedicated to helping all children reach their full potential. We also work closely with parents and families to ensure that each child’s needs are met.

Moving Challenges for Students is committed to ensuring that all children, regardless of ability, have the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. We empower families, educate communities, and create an inclusive environment where every child can reach their full potential. comprehensive support and advocacy for all children, inclusive of autism disorders, disabilities, and their families.

Our Services:

  •  Family Support: We collaborate with other nonprofits to provide parents and caregivers with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate the education system and access essential resources.  
  • Community Building: We foster inclusive communities by offering workshops and events that promote understanding, acceptance, and appreciation of diversity.
  • Inclusive afterschool program: Our program provides a safe and supportive space for children to learn, play, and make friends. 

Here are some specific examples of how our program
benefits children, inclusive of children with autism disorders, other disabilities, and their families.

Utilizing your village:

We provide parent training workshops to equip parents with strategies to help advocate for their child's educational needs. We will assist with connecting with local therapist's - aba, speech, occupational, support groups and will collaborate with child's school to develop a personalized learning plan.

Community building:

Our focus is on: Raising awareness about autism and other disabilities. Sharing best practices for inclusion Building partnerships with schools, organizations, and other nonprofits

Inclusive after school program

Our program provides a comprehensive academic support to all children inclusive of autistic children and children with disabilities. We provide a safe and supportive environment where children can explore their interest, learn new skills, and make friends. We offer a variety of activities: Tutoring/homework help Music and movement Social skills development
